We provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to give clarity to an individual's lived experience with expertise in autism spectrum, attention-deficit/hyperactivity, specific learning, and intellectual disorders. We also offer in-depth behavioral evaluations including those for depression, anxiety, and conduct.
Evaluations include a balance of virtual and in-person assessment procedures and usually follow these steps:
- Completion of intake paperwork
- Intake/comprehensive developmental interview
- Questionnaire completion
- In-person testing
- Report writing
- Results interpretive
All procedures are curated to address referral concerns and goals of the client.

More specifically, we specialize in assessments and intervention plans for specific learning disorders, giftedness, and can conduct independent educational evaluations, functional behavioral analyses, and those to determine early kindergarten entry eligibility.
Beyond testing and intervention planning, we contract with private and charter school systems to aid in staff training and support for students.

Casey Okoniewski, PhD
I am a licensed psychologist specializing in neurodevelopmental disorders. I have spent my career providing developmental, psychological, educational, and behavioral diagnostic assessments to individuals across the lifespan, searching to understand more about themselves and their experiences.
I received my Masters in Education/Specialist Degree in School Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2012 and then worked as a preschool and elementary-level public school psychologist. In 2017, I obtained my Doctorate of Philosophy in School Psychology from North Carolina State University after completing my clinical internship at the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities. Since then, I have split my time as a clinical researcher at and private psychologist.
My practice is motivated by a desire to help individuals meet their potential utilizing a strengths-based, scientist-practitioner model. Through empirically-based assessment and intervention techniques, I aim to empower individuals, their families, and support systems to reach their goals.

I received my Master of Social Work from Appalachian State University and obtained my LCSW in 2014. Since then, I have held a variety of roles within the University of North Carolina system, including clinical instructor, trainer, researcher, and director of TEACCH Toddler Services. Today, I split my time as a researcher at RTI International, an adjunct clinical instructor with TEACCH, and a private practice clinician supporting families directly.
My clinical approach draws on Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions (NDBIs) and Structured Teaching (TEACCH Autism Program). These approaches support development by building skills within play and everyday routines while using visual supports, clear expectations, and predictable environments to help children learn with greater independence and confidence. I am also a certified Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) therapist, and I use this evidence-based approach to support young children’s communication, social, and learning skills in meaningful, natural contexts.
My practice is grounded in the belief that caregivers are the experts on their children and deserve the knowledge and tools to act on that expertise. I am dedicated to helping caregivers understand their child’s unique learning profile so they can make confident, informed decisions about how to support their child's needs.
